About 30 seconds. A real person follows up, not a call center.

Where this project started

This was a classic before-and-after: a two-story home whose siding had never been replaced, with the kind of uneven fading that happens when one elevation takes full afternoon sun and the others do not. Up close, the panels had gone brittle. Several had hairline cracks radiating from the nail hem, which is the tell that the material has lost its flexibility and will keep failing every time the temperature swings.

The homeowner had gotten quotes to pressure wash and paint the vinyl. We walked the house with her and explained why that would have been money spent twice: paint on brittle vinyl does not solve the cracking, and painting a panel darker than its original color can cause it to warp. Replacement was the honest recommendation.

The work

We tore off to the sheathing on all four elevations. The substrate was in better shape than the panels suggested, with only localized repairs needed at one corner where water had been tracking down behind a downspout that terminated too close to the wall. We corrected the downspout run, replaced the damaged sheathing, wrapped the house and flashed every window head and door before starting the new courses.

New siding went on with matching corner posts and window trim, and the accessory color was selected to contrast the field just enough to give the elevations definition without looking striped. The rear elevation, which had the worst of the original damage, was completed first so the homeowner could see the finished standard before the front went up.

Why the before and after reads so strongly

Three things drive the difference in the photos. The new panel profile is deeper, so the horizontal shadow lines are crisper. The color is consistent on every wall instead of fading elevation by elevation. And the trim is wider, which frames the windows and makes the whole facade look composed rather than wrapped. None of that costs dramatically more than a basic re-side; it comes from spending the trim budget deliberately.

What the homeowner gets going forward

No painting, no rot, no annual caulk maintenance on the field, and a wall assembly that is now weather-sealed the way it should have been the first time.

Why vinyl siding still wins on a lot of Georgia homes

Vinyl gets an unfair reputation, largely because of thin, low-grade panels sold on price alone. The product we install is not that. Modern insulated and premium-gauge vinyl has a thicker profile, a stiffer nail hem, better locking, deeper embossing and factory color that runs all the way through the panel, so a scuff does not show as a white streak. It never needs painting, it does not rot, and it shrugs off the humidity that destroys wood and hardboard siding across metro Atlanta.

For homeowners who want the biggest visible improvement per dollar, vinyl is usually the answer. Paired with new corner posts, wider window surrounds, fresh soffit and a coordinated trim color, a vinyl re-side changes the entire character of a house rather than just refreshing it.

How we install it

  1. 1.Full tear-off. The old siding comes off. We do not install new panels over failed material, because that hides rot and traps moisture.
  2. 2.Inspect and repair. We check sheathing, framing, window flanges and bottom plates and replace anything soft, split or insect-damaged.
  3. 3.House wrap and flashing. A continuous weather barrier goes on, lapped in the right direction, then window heads, doors and roof-to-wall junctions get flashed.
  4. 4.Starter, corners, then field. Starter strip is set level, corner posts and J-channel go in, and panels are hung with the correct nail spacing so they can expand and contract without buckling or oil-canning.
  5. 5.Trim details. Soffit, fascia, frieze and accessory pieces are fitted so the finished lines are straight and the transitions look intentional.
  6. 6.Clean site. Cutoffs and fasteners collected, debris hauled, final walk-through with the homeowner.

What it costs and how long it takes

A typical vinyl re-side in our area is a several-day to one-week project once material is on site. Price depends on square footage, panel grade, whether insulated backing is included, how many stories, and how much repair we find under the old siding. We put the repair allowance in writing before we start, so nothing about the number moves for a reason the homeowner did not approve.

How we work with homeowners

EZY Exteriors was founded by a craftsman, not a call center, and the way we run a job reflects that. Every estimate is free, and it is a real written scope rather than a number scribbled on a card. We tell you what we found, what we are replacing, what we are not touching and what the allowance is if we open a wall and discover more than the photos showed. Pricing is straight. There are no same-day discounts, no financing pressure and no scare tactics about your roof failing next week.

Our crews are vetted, experienced installers who do this work every day, and a project manager stays on the job so questions get answered by someone who has actually been on site. We document work in progress with photos, including the parts that get covered back up, so you know what you paid for.

We do not process insurance claims and we are not adjusters. What we will do is inspect, document what we find and give you a clear scope you can hand to your carrier if the damage is genuinely storm related. If it is normal wear, we will tell you that too.

FAQ

Questions about this project

Are these real projects from your own crews?

Every project on this page was completed by EZY Exteriors crews in North Georgia. We do not subcontract roofing, siding, or painting work, so the crew on your home is the same crew that produced these results.

Can I see a project near my city before I commit?

Yes. Tell us your city when you request an estimate and we will point you to finished roofing, fiber cement siding, vinyl siding, or painting jobs nearby, and share photos or addresses when the homeowner has approved it.

What does a project like this cost?

Each case study lists the scope so you can compare it to your own home. Pricing depends on square footage, material line, access, and how much repair is found under the old surface. Your written estimate is itemized, so nothing is hidden.

What warranty comes with a project like this?

Every job includes a written workmanship warranty from us plus the manufacturer warranty on the materials, such as GAF shingles or James Hardie siding. We hand you both in writing before work starts.

How soon can you start on my home?

Most estimates are scheduled within 24 hours, and typical projects begin within one to three weeks depending on material lead times and weather. Emergency leaks and storm damage are prioritized.
